From the second printed atlas of Scotland, (A set of 36 New and Correct maps of Scotland Divided into Shires……)

Prior to Moll,s publication there were few maps detailing the interior of Scotland. This was partly due to the difficult terrain, poor communication of roads and the objections from the people of Scotland to cartograpers. After the Jacobite Rebellion in 1745 a demand for maps of Scotland stimulated production and included a reprint of Molls atlas in 1745.
